AFGHAN DANCE
Ziba is Britain's only professional Afghan dance soloist. She has appeared on behalf of Afghanaid, Afghan and Central Asian Association, the Rahela Trust, the British Agencies Afghanistan Group, the Afghan Institute of Strategic Studies, the International Cricket Council, and Afghan Voice Radio. She has also performed for the Norouz programmes of the BBC Pashto and Dari services and Manoto TV, and at the Mayor of London’s Eid event in Trafalgar Square. She has featured in Afghan music videos and is in demand as a performer for weddings, engagement parties and community and charity events.
Ziba specialises in improvisation to live music, and has performed alongside numerous Afghan musicians, including Obaid Juenda, Mariam Wafa, Timor Shaidaie, Srood and the Kabul Boys, Ahmad Obaid, Jalal Azizi, Hashmat Ehsanmand, Milad Yousefi, Kamran Joya and Belqiss Younusi. Ziba is skilled at interpreting any rhythm and musical style, ranging from qarsak to qataghani, and pop mast to traditional music. She has an array of authentic and colourful costumes to coordinate with clients' colour schemes.
